Sitti’s Olive Trees
After working with Ndaa Hassan on our first picture book; ‘The Most Powerful Night’, Ndaa was keen to work together again on another beautiful story. This time using a natural, earthy and homely look and feel, the story celebrates Palestinian culture, family, storytelling and precious olive trees in a visually rich and engaging way. Sitti’s Olive Trees is a story of the olive harvesting season in Palestine. Sitti shares memories of her ancestors planting and caring for their precious olive trees with Reema, her grand daughter. Reema is captivated by the beautiful story and learns the value of each drop of olive oil.
